Can Walmart do a safety inspection on my car? I usually take my car to Walmart for repairs, as I find their prices some of the best in town. However, I'm buying a used car from a private seller and I need to get a safety inspection.

Over 90% of Walmart locations do not offer car safety inspections.
The reason that Walmart typically doesn’t offer safety inspections is because it certifies mechanics through its own program. This program isn’t recognized by most state governments, which makes the company ineligible to conduct safety inspections on cars.
This isn’t to say that Walmart mechanics aren’t experts or good at what they do. It only means that Walmart doesn’t deem the certification process and safety inspection income lucrative enough to offer it to its employees.
Instead of going to Walmart, find a local certified shop to get your car safety inspection done correctly and under the guidelines of the law. In most cases, that’s the only way you’ll be able to get a
